Job summary

Allegiance Group, a respected Midwest General Contractor, seeks a Commercial Superintendent to oversee major construction projects across the Greater Indianapolis area. You will manage day-to-day site operations on ground-up, renovations, and tenant improvements, lead field teams, coordinate with Project Managers, owners, architects, and trades, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Superintendent with a General Contractor.
• Experience managing ground-up construction, renovations, and tenant improvement projects.
• Ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, site logistics, safety, and quality control.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, trade scopes, and sequencing.
• Familiarity with the Greater Indianapolis construction market preferred.
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilisation through completion and closeout.
• Manage subcontractors, field teams, site logistics, safety, quality, and project schedules.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, constructability issues, and potential risks.
• Conduct daily site meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and progress updates.
• Monitor short-term schedules, manpower, materials, deliveries, inspections, and milestones.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Manage RFIs, field documentation, punch lists, inspections, and project closeout.
• Support preconstruction planning, site logistics, sequencing, and subcontractor selection where required.
• Mentor Assistant Superintendents and other field team members.

This role will manage day-to-day site operations across a strong pipeline of commercial construction projects, including ground-up developments, renovations, and tenant improvement work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilisation through completion and closeout
• Manage subcontractors, field teams, site logistics, safety, quality, and project schedules
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners
• Review drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, constructability issues, and potential project risks

Required Experience & Skills

• Proficiency with platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar software
• Strong leadership, communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with the Greater Indianapolis construction market is preferred
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential
