Are you interested in becoming an employee-owner with a leading national general contractor that will provide you with opportunities to Build More in your professional career? The Christman Company is looking for Senior Project Superintendent candidates in the southeast Michigan region.

As the site leader, you will oversee all field activities for large projects or multiple smaller projects, understanding all work activities on these projects. Your responsibilities include managing subcontractor coordination, sequencing work activities, maintaining schedules, quality control, and enforcing safety rules to ensure successful project completion.

What You Will Do

As a Senior Project Superintendent, your primary responsibilities include:

• Represent Christman daily at the project site, setting expectations and responsibilities.
• Review construction documents for constructability, phasing, site logistics, and other field issues; recommend construction methods.
• Establish safety, quality, and conduct expectations on site.
• Create and communicate safety programs, conduct safety orientations, and address hazards.
• Report and investigate safety incidents, discipline violations, and remove individuals if necessary.
• Plan site logistics, including traffic patterns and equipment placement.
• Collaborate with project team and stakeholders to develop and execute work plans.
• Coordinate preparation and progress meetings.
• Oversee trade work, interpret construction documents, and ensure quality standards.
• Manage submittals, punch lists, and daily progress reports.

What You Will Bring To The Team

Required experience, knowledge, and skills include:

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum ten (10) years of leadership in commercial construction, managing multiple projects or large projects over $40M.
• Completion of relevant training in Construction Management, Project Management, Safety, or Communication.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Deep understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and leadership skills.
• Ability to lead, supervise large teams, and promote safety culture.
• Knowledge of site requirements, tools, methods, and materials across trade divisions.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with risk management understanding.
• Ability to drive schedules, analyze reports, and manage responsibilities to meet deadlines.
• Proven ability to build relationships with clients and team members.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Procore, BIM, and Microsoft Project.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The role involves outdoor work at construction sites and in office trailers, with exposure to loud noises and varying weather conditions. Protective equipment is required. The physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and other physical activities necessary for site work. Candidates must be able to meet these physical requirements with or without accommodation.
