Job summary

Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC (TPC) seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead projects from planning through completion, covering design, procurement, installation, and commissioning, while ensuring safety and quality. You will organize workloads, manage finances, and oversee scope changes, schedules, and budgets across cross-functional teams.

The role requires 7–10+ years in PM for utility infrastructure, PMP preferred, and willingness to travel to project

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of project management experience in utility infrastructure.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and planning skills.
• Experience managing multiple complex projects.
• Proficiency with PM tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop relationships with new customers.
• Cultivate relationships with existing customers.
• Demonstrate highest level of business ethics and Thayer culture.
• Participate in bidding strategy and pricing.
• Prepare take-offs and bids in response to RFPs.
• Prepare project initiation plans including schedule, cash flow, and safety plans.
• Maintain communication with project sites and customers about issues.
• Manage project costs and identify risks to stay within budget.
• Develop project cash flows and change-order tracking.
• Exhibit proficiency in contract development and management.
• Exhibit proficiency in project risk management and mitigation.
• Communicate project information to stakeholders.
• Complete monthly WIP.
• Reconcile revenue to expenses for each job.
• Oversee planning, resource allocation, budget tracking, and schedule management.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Serve as primary point of contact with utilities, clients, and regulators.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
