Job summary

Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead and manage utility infrastructure projects from planning through completion. Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of project management experience in utility infrastructure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.
• Experience developing and maintaining customer relationships.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop relationships with new customers.
• Cultivate and nurture relationships with existing customers.
• Demonstrate high ethical standards and Thayer’s values.
• Participate in bidding strategy and pricing development.
• Prepare take-offs, solicit pricing, and bid responses to RFPs.
• Create project initiation plans including manpower, cash flow, materials, and safety plans.
• Maintain communication with sites and customers on issues like scope changes and scheduling.
• Manage project costs and proactively identify risks to stay within budget.
• Develop project cash flows, manage billing and change orders.
• Oversee risk management and mitigation opportunities.
• Communicate project information to stakeholders.
• Complete monthly WIP and reconcile revenue to expenses.
• Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and budget tracking.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, construction, procurement, field services).
• Serve as primary contact with utilities, clients, contractors, and regulators.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure safety compliance (OSHA, NEC, NESC) and quality standards.
• Manage subcontractors and vendors for timely delivery.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to leadership.
• Facilitate project close-out with punch lists and final inspections.
