Job summary

AEP is seeking a Project Manager to lead intermediate and complex projects within a matrix organization across multiple Texas locations. You will direct planning, execution, monitoring, and closure with a focus on safety, cost control, and customer satisfaction.

You’ll coordinate with internal/external customers, vendors, and regulators, supervise staff, manage procurement and contracts, and drive improvements. Travel is typical around 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field with 3 years qualified experience; or Associate’s degree with 5 years; or HS diploma with 7 years qualified experience.
• Demonstrated project management duties across certifying body knowledge areas (scope, cost, schedule, risk, etc.).
• PMP certification is preferred but not required at application; applicant must obtain within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise assigned project/outage work activities.
• Use Waterfall and Agile project management techniques for the organization.
• Develop and manage schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and staff allocations.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders and prepare detailed written reports.
• Explain project risks and drive mitigation and continuous improvement across programs.
