Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead a large, complex project or multiple smaller efforts. You will coach the team, manage client communications, and serve as the primary point of contact to ensure goals and schedules are met.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, develop strategies, monitor budgets and change orders, and present proposals to clients. A four-year engineering degree and at least 10 years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering or applicable experience.
• Minimum 10 years' experience.
• Expert knowledge of systems design (HVAC, plumbing, etc.) and design engineering aspects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with all levels.
• Proven ability to manage multiple large projects.
• Strong public speaking ability.
• Ability to present proposals to clients.
• Strong computer skills (CADD, ERP, MS Office such as Excel).

Responsibilities

• Develop client relationships by providing project status updates to client and leadership.
• Partner with management to develop and implement project strategies.
• Manage budget reports, cost and revenue projections, and change orders for the project.
• Participate in project meetings with internal departments to discuss schedule and issues.
• Ensure scope and direction of the project stays on schedule.
• Delegate work and mentor project team; provide coaching and feedback.
• Make decisions on objectives and critical issues; consult with supervisor as needed.
• Provide leadership to ensure objectives and deadlines are met.
• Train and mentor less-experienced team members.
