Job summary

Vertiv seeks an experienced project leader to plan, direct and coordinate large-scale initiatives. You will oversee Field Engineers and Technicians, ensuring projects meet goals on time and within budget while safeguarding profitability.

You will collaborate with managers, outline work plans, manage resources, and report progress to clients and stakeholders. Strong communication and leadership are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code and industry standards such as OSHA and NFPA.
• Proficient with MS Word, Project, Excel, Power Point, Latista, Google Docs and other project management software.
• Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, if required.
• Requires work in a service center or field environment, including extensive computer and telephone use.
• Requires excellent verbal and writing skills to communicate effectively with clients and their representatives, contractors, field engineers, peers and management.
• Requires mature judgment and responsibility for assigned projects and supervising others.
• Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and night work; travel up to several months.
• Must be able to lift and move test equipment up to 100 pounds.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project proposals to determine time frame, funding, procedures, staffing, and resource allotment.
• Confers with managers to outline work plan and assign duties and scope of authority.
• Establishes work plan and staffing for each project phase and assigns personnel.
• Directs and coordinates project personnel to ensure progress on schedule and within budget.
• Reviews status reports and adjusts schedules as needed.
• Prepares and presents project reports for management and clients; gathers backup for change orders.
• Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
• Coordinates project activities with clients and contractors as required.
• Direct supervisory responsibility for Field Engineers and Technicians on assigned projects.
• Develops large-scale project management processes for the company.
• Mentors junior personnel in project management practices.
