Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking an accomplished Project Manager Staff to lead high‑complex EPC/CCGT programs within a matrix environment. You will direct planning, execution, and control of projects with emphasis on safety, budgeting, and stakeholder communications.

The role requires extensive PM experience, PMP certification, and a track record across construction, estimating, controls, and contracts. Travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with ten years qualified experience; OR Associate’s degree with twelve years; OR HS diploma with fourteen years.
• Three years as a PROJECT MANAGER PRINCIPAL (Grade 9) preferred, or demonstrated competency in a shorter timeline.
• Experience in project management, major construction, project estimating, controls, engineering in a production environment.
• Subject matter expert in PM knowledge areas including safety, scope, cost, contracting, risk, and reporting.
• Utilities, commercial nuclear power, and IT systems experience is favorable.
• PMP certification required unless waived by senior leadership; valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities with expert proficiency.
• Use Waterfall and Agile principles for project management of the organization.
• Lead project plans, schedules, budgets, tools, and staff while ensuring safety and zero harm.
• Communicate project details and status, and lead planning meetings and stakeholder presentations.
• Develop relationships with internal/external customers, vendors, contractors and partners.
• Ensure alignment with PM standards and manage project scope, costs, and risk.
