Job summary

American Electric Power seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead highly complex projects in a matrix environment. You will plan, direct, and coordinate activities, ensuring safety, cost control, and timely delivery across multiple stakeholders in the Kentucky Power FOCUS program.

You will communicate project status, manage budgets and resources, and mentor teams while upholding AEP safety standards and PM best practices (Waterfall and Agile).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or related field with ten (10) years qualified experience; OR, Associate’s degree with twelve (12) years; OR High School Diploma/GED with fourteen (14) years of qualified experience.
• Three (3) years of experience as a PROJECT MANAGER PRINCIPAL (Grade 9) is preferred, OR demonstrated competencies, knowledge and skillset through achieved results in a shorter timeline.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities with expert level of proficiency in all aspects.
• Use Waterfall and Agile project management techniques to manage projects for the organization.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders including internal and external customers and partners.
