Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Senior Project Manager Staff Sr. to lead highly complex projects in Indiana. The role requires PMP certification or waiver, a strong PM background, and experience in utilities and construction management.

You will manage scope, cost, and schedules while ensuring safety and compliance. The position may include engagement with internal/external customers, vendors, contractors, and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or related field with ten years qualified experience
• Associate’s degree with twelve years qualified experience
• High School Diploma/GED with fourteen years qualified experience
• PMP certification required unless waiver approved by SVP or OPCO President
• Valid state driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities using Waterfall or Agile methods
• Ensure safety per AEP System Safety Process and Zero Harm goals
• Develop and coordinate project plan, schedule, budget, tools and staff
• Communicate project/outage details and status to stakeholders
• Build relationships with internal/external customers, vendors and contractors
• Provide guidance, training and high level PM expertise to teams
• Represent AEP with industrial customers, vendors and regulators as needed
• Align projects with AEP PM standards and organizational requirements
