Job summary

AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER (I&M) is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex programs in a matrix environment, directing planning, execution, and control to achieve safety, cost, and customer satisfaction. The role focuses on EPC and Combined Cycle Gas Turbine projects within the Indiana and Michigan power group.

You will manage plans, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder communications, ensuring adherence to AEP standards and effective leadership across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of qualified experience; or
• Associate’s degree with 12 years of qualified experience; or
• High School Diploma/GED with 14 years of qualified experience.
• PMP certification required for this position unless waiver is granted by senior leadership.
• Experience in project management, major construction, project controls, cost estimating, and project engineering.
• Travel typically 25% or less, up to 50% for short durations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities with expert level of proficiency in all aspects.
• Support and hold employees and contractors accountable for the AEP System Safety Process.
• Manage, develop, review and coordinate the project plan, schedule, budget, tools, and staff.
• Communicate project/outage details and status updates; lead planning meetings and stakeholder presentations.
• Develop and manage working relationships with project teams, customers, contractors and suppliers.
