Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a senior project leader to drive delivery on large, complex projects. You will coordinate construction teams, manage client relationships, and oversee budgeting, invoicing, and risk mitigation.

This role requires deep knowledge of building systems and strong negotiation and communication skills. The position involves collaborating across departments, ensuring on-time, on-budget outcomes while maintaining a positive client experience.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in related field, or applicable experience.
• 10+ years’ experience, including construction team management.
• Proven ability to manage larger and more complex projects and associated teams.
• In-depth knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, lighting, controls, generation, and water systems.
• Very strong negotiation skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of employees, clients and subcontractors
• Proven success collaborating across multiple teams and subcontractors.
• Very strong financial acumen.
• Confident public speaker, able to relay clear and engaging information.
• Strong knowledge of building construction processes and methods, building codes and permitting.
• Strong computer skills, including ERP and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Leads a project delivery team and staffing for large programs.
• Manages client relationships and serves as primary contact during construction.
• Oversees budget reports, cost and revenue projections, change orders, and invoicing.
• Develops project delivery strategies and risk management plans.
• Ensures cashflow positive projects through value schedules and timely invoicing.
• Organizes and leads project meetings with clients and internal departments.
• Ensures scope alignment with stakeholders and on-schedule/budget delivery.
• Facilitates contract documentation from kickoff to closeout.
• Communicates project scope with subcontractors and clients.
• Works at a project site.
