Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking an experienced Project Manager skilled in commercial HVAC and mechanical construction to lead complex projects, coordinating engineers and field teams to deliver on time and within budget.

You will manage milestones, forecast resource needs, apply Lean practices, maintain client relationships, and mentor junior staff while upholding the Southland culture of People.

Qualifications

• You must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
• 7–10+ years experience in related field at an MEP firm.
• Experience with Design/Build and IPD is a plus.
• Familiarity with Lean Construction tools is a plus.
• Experience with data centers, federal work, industrial or healthcare is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, mechanical, piping, and their design/construction.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to a single large project or multiple projects led by seniors.
• Coordinate with craftsman, foreman, and owner; manage project milestones.
• Plan mechanical projects from start to finish, understanding moving parts.
• Apply LEAN principles to deliver owner expectations.
• Manage project finances and keep the project on track.
• Develop and nurture customer relationships long-term.
• Mentor younger staff and promote Southland's People value.
