Job summary

Kokosing, a leading general contractor in the United States, seeks an experienced Project Manager for industrial projects in Staunton, VA. You will plan, direct, and coordinate construction activities—overseeing budgets, schedules, and safety—with a focus on water/wastewater, data centers, and manufacturing facilities.

The role requires a civil engineering or construction management background and 7+ years of experience. Strong leadership, communication, and CPM scheduling skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• PE credentialing is not required but is a strong plus.
• 7+ years’ experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management required.
• Open to other large construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client to facilitate construction activities.
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within corporate policy.
• Confers with project staff to outline work plan, assign duties/responsibilities and authority.
• Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project; recruits or assigns personnel.
• Directs and coordinates project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within budget.
• Reviews project proposal or plan to determine timeframe, funding limitations, and resources.
• Reviews status reports and modifies schedules as needed.
• Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
• Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
• Coordinates project activities with governmental agencies and subcontractors.
• Understands and executes CPM-based project schedules.
• Monitor/control construction through on-site supervision to stay on schedule and budget.
• Represent company in Owner progress meetings.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts and project profitability or loss.
• Lead project team in daily field coordination, weekly schedule, and monthly safety kickoff meetings.
• Mentor and assist career development of team members.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned.
