Job summary

Public Works-Utilities Drainage seeks an Engineer – Senior to lead complex project management and plan design for transportation, utilities, or development services. Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring compliance with city, state, and federal regulations.

The role involves overseeing large-scale projects from design through construction, with payments oversight and budget management.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years of Professional Engineer work experience required.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Texas OR eligible to obtain Texas license within 6 months of hire.
• Must hold a valid Texas Driver’s License or be able to obtain one prior to employment.
• Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer in any state and obtain Texas license within six months.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage large-scale projects with multiple disciplines and design criteria.
• Oversee design, bidding, permitting, and construction phases of projects.
• Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and contractors; review plans and provide compliance guidance.
• Prepare and maintain project records, budgets, estimates, and status reports.
• Supervise engineers and staff; evaluate performance and assist in hiring decisions.
