Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Services (AIS) is actively supporting the Department of Energy at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN, and the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX, hiring for engineering and technical roles. Successful candidates will be AIS employees, with day-to-day direction from Y-12 staff and AIS handling pay and benefits.

Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, 18+, with pre-employment screenings and potential DOE clearance as dictated by the government contract.

Qualifications

BA/BS in a technical discipline from ABET-accredited school; 20+ years of direct experience, or MA/MS with 19+ years.
DOE Q clearance is preferred.
Clearance requirements for this position are set by the government contract.

Responsibilities

Provide project engineering support for planning, design and implementation of new machine tools and infrastructure upgrades.
Provide technical integration, leadership, guidance, and direction to multi-disciplined engineering teams on high-profile plant initiatives.
Apply ASME Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1) requirements for work in nuclear facilities and manage scope, budgets, and schedules.
Coordinate engineering efforts with Production, Maintenance, Project Management, Construction, Startup, and Project Controls; monitor progress and take corrective action.
