Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Services (AIS), an Akima company, is actively seeking Engineering, Professional, Technical, and administrative support personnel to augment our staff supporting the DOE at Y-12 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Pantex in Amarillo, Texas. Pay, benefits, human resources, and employment management are provided by AIS, while day-to-day direction comes from Y-12 staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Physical Science from ABET-accredited program in the United States (2+ years experience).
• Ability to obtain/maintain a DOE Q clearance.
• Pre-employment drug screen required.
• Medical exam(s) may be required.
• Possibility of DOE clearance and WSAP designation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates configuration management activities and ensures plant system operability and maintenance.
• Works with the Configuration Management program for the assigned system(s).
• Prepares configuration control/design change packages for tasks.
• Evaluates impact of proposed changes on safety bases.
• Performs troubleshooting and improvement activities.
• Applies system and equipment expertise to resolve issues with related disciplines.
• System walkdowns, calibration & equipment test/inspection determinations, spare parts evaluations, system turnover.
