Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Services (AIS) is actively seeking a Nuclear Facility Safety Engineer, Level 6, to support DOE facilities at Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN and Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX. You will provide technical safety analyses and lead safety engineering efforts in key DOE complexes.

The role requires a BS degree with extensive DOE-specific Nuclear/Safety Analysis experience, the ability to obtain a DOE clearance, and readiness for pre-employment drug screening and

Qualifications

• BS Degree plus 20+ years of direct experience with 10+ years of DOE-specific Nuclear/Safety Analysis Engineering.
• Ability to obtain Q clearance; Active DOE Q preferred.
• Pre-employment drug screen and medical examinations may be required; background investigations to satisfy clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide nuclear facility safety technical support for DOE facilities at Y-12 in accordance with 10 CFR 830 Subpart B and DOE-STD-3009-94 and DOE-STD-1189-2008.
• Demonstrated experience in hazard identification, hazard screening, hazard evaluation, accident/consequence analysis, and documenting results in safety analyses and safety requirements.
• Familiarity with DNFSB concerns pertaining to DOE nuclear facilities.
• Serve as Lead Facility Safety Engineer in either 9212 or 9215 Complexes.
