Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Services (AIS) seeks engineers to support DOE projects at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN and the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX. The role involves coordinating engineering activity, ensuring compliance with NQA-1, and guiding cross-disciplinary teams through design and implementation of critical infrastructure upgrades.

Qualified candidates will have ABET-accredited technical degrees with 10+ years of experience; DOE Q clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree from ABET-accredited school in a technical discipline with 10+ years of direct experience required, or an MA or MS with 10+ years of experience.
DOE Q clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide project engineering support and coordination for projects across Commercial, Infrastructure, Production Modernization, and Production Stockpile initiatives.
Coordinate planning, design and implementation of new machine tools and/or infrastructure upgrades.
Provide technical integration, leadership, and direction to multi-disciplined engineering teams, applying ASME NQA-1 requirements for nuclear facilities; plan and direct engineering activities; manage budgets and schedules.
Review project progress against schedules and take corrective action when required.
