Job summary

The AES Corporation seeks a Senior Project Engineer focused on Mega and M&A Engineering in the U.S. This role leads design for utility-scale PV and energy storage, guiding engineering across development, EPC, and commissioning. Strong PV modeling, MV design, and team leadership are essential.

Based in Louisville, CO, Houston, TX, Salt Lake City, UT, or New York, NY, with up to 25% travel; candidates must manage multi-project priorities and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in solar PV system design, development, construction, and analysis preferred.
• Proficiency in PV system design, including NEC design requirements and protections.
• Experience with medium voltage collector system design.
• Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform full technical due diligence and risk assessment for M&A projects.
• Full project design evaluation to identify red flags and fatal flaws.
• Redesign layouts, energy production estimates, EPC cost estimates, and equipment selections.
• Coordinate with M&A developers for RFP documentation.
• Design for projects up to 30% electrical, civil, structural, and mechanical.
