Job summary

Modern Construction Services is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to support the delivery of commercial construction projects in the Charlotte area. The role blends technical coordination with ensuring every project advances with accuracy, organization, and financial clarity.

On-site onboarding is required, with hybrid flexibility available after proven performance. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, and accounting to keep projects aligned and progressing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience with Procore and submittals/RFIs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Build and maintain the contract item list — all items requiring submittal for architect or engineer approval.
• Manage submittal logs, RFI logs, and change order logs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Issue subcontractor contracts using established templates at project kickoff.
• Support scheduling updates and coordination between field and office teams.
• Maintain accurate project records and workflows in Procore.
• Prepare monthly project financial reports for management review.
