Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. seeks a technically strong Senior Project Engineer to support a major Los Angeles transportation infrastructure program, bridging field operations and project leadership.

You will manage cost controls, change management, documentation, and contract administration, coordinating with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and owners to ensure on-time completion and compliance. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of construction industry experience.
• Experience with large, complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong contract, plans, specs, and project documentation knowledge.
• Experience with cost tracking, change management, and financial reporting.
• Ability to analyze labor costs, quantities, production, and performance.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in executing large-scale transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Review drawings, specs, contracts, subcontracts, and project requirements.
• Track and process change proposals, change orders, and owner pay applications.
• Coordinate procurement, subcontractor coordination, material tracking, and project documentation.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, drawings revisions, and other technical documentation.
• Monitor costs, prepare cost and production reports, and forecast finances.
• Ensure compliance with plans, codes, standards, and contract requirements.
• Support project closeout and turnover documentation.
