Job summary

Los Angeles, California-based Senior Project Engineer role focused on heavy civil and transportation infrastructure. You will support project leadership in cost control, scheduling, and contract administration for large-scale projects and coordinate with field teams.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in construction, a relevant engineering degree, and proven ability to manage cost forecasting, change management, and documentation across complex programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of construction industry experience.
• Experience with project cost tracking, change management, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of construction project controls and contract administration.
• Ability to manage multiple project priorities and maintain detailed documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in the execution of large-scale transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, and project requirements.
• Track, prepare, review, and process Change Proposal Requests, Change Orders, Potential Change Orders, Owner Payment Applications, and Claims & Supporting Documentation.
• Assist with identifying changes in project scope and developing supporting documentation for additional compensation and/or schedule impacts.
• Monitor project costs and maintain accurate cost and production reports.
• Assist project leadership with cost forecasting and financial reporting.
• Coordinate with field operations to verify installed quantities and completed work.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, drawing revisions, and other technical documentation as required.
• Research technical and quality control issues and coordinate appropriate solutions with project leadership.
