Job summary

SteveRecruiter, LLC in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support major transportation and heavy civil infrastructure delivery. You will work with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and leadership team, handling project controls, change management, cost tracking, and contract administration.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience on large-scale projects across rail, transit, and electrical infrastructure, with strong cost forecasting and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or construction field.
• 10+ years of construction industry experience on large projects.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, plans, specs, and project documentation.
• Experience with cost tracking, change management and financial reporting.
• Ability to analyze labor costs, quantities, production and performance.
• Proficient in project controls and contract administration.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with detailed documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in executing large-scale projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, and requirements.
• Track and process Change Proposals, Change Orders, and owner pay apps.
• Assist with scope changes and documentation for compensation or schedule impacts.
• Monitor costs and produce cost and production reports.
• Assist with cost forecasting and financial reporting.
• Analyze labor costs, quantities and project performance.
• Coordinate field operations to verify quantities and work completion.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, drawing revisions and technical docs.
• Research technical quality issues and coordinate solutions with leadership.
