Job summary

The Project Engineer at American Electric Power (AEP) leads complex, multi-disciplinary generation projects across the full lifecycle, from conceptual design through commissioning. You will coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, OEMs, and EPC contractors to ensure safe, reliable delivery of utility-scale assets.

This onsite role requires strong leadership, planning and problem-solving skills, with travel to facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required or higher.
• PE license encouraged depending on level.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Engineering Work Plan.
• Lead the Engineering Design Review process and RFIs.
• Coordinate design with internal teams and external partners.
• Support construction and project closeout activities.
• Provide regular engineering progress updates to stakeholders.
• Travel to facilities as needed, including overnight trips.
