Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks a Project Engineer to lead complex, multi-disciplinary generation projects through design, procurement, and construction phases. You will coordinate internal teams and external partners, respond to RFIs, and ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of power assets at sites in Hallsville, Texas or Columbus, Ohio.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET-accredited) with 2+ years of experience; PE license encouraged for advancement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
Master's degree or PhD in engineering from ABET-accredited program may be considered for entry at Senior level.
PE license is encouraged or preferred for advancement.

Responsibilities

Lead the Engineering Design Review process and respond to RFIs.
Coordinate design efforts across internal teams and external partners (developers, architects/engineers, OEMs, EPC contractors).
Provide support during construction and facilitate project closeout activities to ensure timely completion.
Provide regular updates on engineering progress to project team and stakeholders.
Travel to AEP generation facilities as needed, including occasional overnight trips.
