Job summary

AEP is seeking a Project Engineer to serve as the engineering lead for complex generation projects, spanning the full lifecycle from concept to commissioning. You will coordinate across internal teams, external partners, and regulatory agencies to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of large-scale assets.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited) with 2+ years of related experience, and a master’s degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of related engineering experience.
• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Engineering Work Plan.
• Lead the Engineering Design Review process and respond to RFIs.
• Coordinate design efforts with internal teams and external partners.
• Provide support during construction and project closeout activities.
• Provide regular updates on engineering progress to the project team and stakeholders.
• Travel to AEP generation facilities as needed, including occasional overnight trips.
