Job summary

AEP is seeking a Project Engineer to serve as the Engineering Lead for complex, multi-disciplinary Generation Projects, guiding conceptual and detailed design, procurement, and construction support across internal teams, external consultants, OEMs, EPC contractors, and stakeholders.

You will travel to facilities as needed and drive safe, cost-effective delivery of utility-scale power assets, reporting progress to the project team and ensuring compliance with policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex engineering projects in power generation.
• Ability to coordinate across internal teams and external partners.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Engineering Work Plan.
• Lead the Engineering Design Review process and respond to RFIs.
• Coordinate design efforts with internal teams and external partners.
• Provide support during construction and facilitate project closeout.
• Provide regular engineering progress updates to stakeholders.
• Travel to AEP generation facilities as needed.
