Job summary

AEP is seeking a Project Engineer to serve as the engineering lead for complex, multi-disciplinary generation projects across the full lifecycle, from conceptual design to commissioning, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery.

You will coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and regulators, lead engineering reviews, manage work plans, and provide regular progress updates. Occasional travel to facilities is required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree and 2+ years of related experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET) required as stated in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, facilitate and coordinate engineering activities among AEP, Developers, A/E and OEMs for Generation capital projects.
• Schedule and lead Engineering meetings with project stakeholders.
• Provide regular engineering progress updates to the project team and stakeholders.
• Develop and manage Engineering Work Plan; lead Design Review process and respond to RFIs.
• Coordinate design efforts with internal teams and external partners; support construction and project closeout.
