Job summary

Matrix PDM Engineering in Pittsburgh seeks a Project Engineer to oversee the complete engineering execution for assigned EPC projects and proposals. You will serve as the primary technical contact with the client, guiding the project scope, design criteria, and safety considerations from start to finish.

You will coordinate with discipline leads, support procurement, control costs, and ensure all deliverables meet contractual and regulatory standards for successful start-up and operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in any engineering discipline from ABET accredited university required.
• 5+ years of experience leading multiple disciplinary projects including mechanical, structural, electrical and control systems in EPC projects and proposals.
• Experience with engineered fixed equipment, storage tanks, and related foundations, structures and vessels preferred.
• Ability to understand client specifications, procurement, commissioning and start-up standards, documentation, vendor data approvals, etc.
• Demonstrated experience following quality assurance and control procedures.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Executes engineering for assigned projects, serving as primary technical contact with the client.
• Develops Engineering Scope of Work and Project Engineering Plan.
• Coordinates schedule development and alignment with discipline leads and stakeholders.
• Ensures work complies with design codes and approved procedures.
• Oversees scope adherence, budget impact analysis, and potential change orders.
• Manages document control and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitors project progress, costs, and readiness for procurement, start-up and operation.
• Leads design coordination meetings across disciplines.
