Job summary

Matrix PDM Engineering is seeking a Senior Project Engineer I to lead engineering execution for assigned projects. This role serves as the primary technical contact with the client and may assume Project Manager duties on smaller projects.

The position requires coordinating with discipline leads, managing schedules and submittals, and ensuring design work meets contract scope and quality standards. Overtime and travel are expected as needed.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in engineering.
• 6+ years leading multiple disciplines in the execution of EPC Projects and Proposals.
• Experience with engineered fixed equipment including above ground storage tanks, low temp (LNG, ammonia) facilities, foundations, structural steel, and vessels.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall execution of engineering for assigned projects or proposals to satisfy contract scope and quality requirements.
• Serve as the primary technical contact on the project with the client and, on smaller projects, the overall Project Manager.
• Coordinate and monitor schedule updates, submittals and design criteria with discipline leads and procurement.
• Develop and communicate Engineering Scope of Work and Project Engineering Plan to disciplines.
• Ensure work aligns with scope and as-sold intent; identify budget deviations and potential changes; coordinate cost/schedule impact.
• Run design coordination meetings; ensure inter-discipline alignment and adherence to manuals and procedures.
• Collaborate with project management, procurement and document control on submittals and RFIs.
• Support weekly/monthly project status reviews and client expectations management.
