Job summary

Matrix PDM Engineering in the United States is seeking a Senior Project Engineer I to lead overall engineering execution for assigned projects or proposals, coordinating multi-disciplinary work to meet contract scope and quality requirements. This role serves as the main technical contact for the client and may act as Project Manager on smaller projects.

You will support schedule development, align design codes and criteria, and drive engineering planning.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in any engineering discipline from ABET accredited university required.
6+ years of experience leading multiple disciplines including mechanical, structural, electrical and control systems in EPC Projects and Proposals.
Experience with engineered fixed equipment: above ground storage tanks, LNG, ammonia, etc., bulk storage systems.
Ability to understand client specifications, procurement, commissioning and start-up standards, vendor data approvals, etc.
Strong management skills with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Overtime and travel will be required.

Responsibilities

Lead the overall execution of engineering for assigned projects or proposals.
Monitor and coordinate the execution of engineering to satisfy contract scope and quality requirements.
Serve as the primary technical contact on the project with the client and may act as Project Manager on smaller projects.
Support schedule development and ensure discipline leads stay on schedule.
Coordinate with clients, internal and external discipline leads to determine design codes and criteria.
Develop and communicate Engineering Scope of Work and Project Engineering Plan.
Ensure work aligns with scope, manage potential changes, and coordinate cost/schedule impact.
Verify discipline quality processes are followed and manage design coordination meetings.
Coordinate with project management, procurement, and document control for submittals and RFIs.
Oversee adherence to manuals/procedures and contract documents; support weekly/monthly status reports.
Work with PM to manage client expectations and participate in project reviews.
