Job summary

Matrix PDM Engineering in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead multiple engineering projects of moderate risk, scope and complexity, coordinating cross-discipline teams and ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

The role involves directing project objectives, coordinating with clients and internal departments, developing estimates, and pursuing new business opportunities within a geographic area.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree in Mechanical, Civil or Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management; or combination of equivalent education and 10 years job-related experience if no degree
• 8+ years job-related experience, PM/P&L preferred; includes 4+ supervisory experience
• PMI Certification from PMI preferred
• Strong understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards and their impact on project activities
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; good negotiation skills
• Strong knowledge of construction, design, finance and project management
• Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel
• Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance
• Proven track record of bringing projects in on time, on schedule, within budget, and safely
• Ability to manage occasional heavy workloads with time sensitive deadlines, prioritize and manage multiple projects

• Initiates liaison with client to assess scope and resources
• Oversees bid, project, and strategy meetings
• Prepares or oversees detailed project estimates and review of specs
• Plans and staffs key positions via department heads
• Monitors engineering direction to meet design, budget and schedule
• Provides technical assistance and change order management
• Manages project profit/loss and ensures timely billings and collections
• Develops new business opportunities in target client groups or geographies
