Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Project Engineer for Development Operations (DO) Test Systems Engineering (TSE) to manage Special Test Equipment design projects in support of jet engine validation and production testing. The role is based in East Hartford, CT.

You will lead a multidisciplinary DO team, coordinate scope with stakeholders, and monitor schedules and EVMS status to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery. Travel up to 10% is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field is required.
• 8 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree in a STEM with 5 years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidiscipline DO team through an estimating process to provide a comprehensive plan when required to secure future work.
• Initiate design kick off. Identify and align on project scope with stakeholders.
• Manage design requirements and ensure gap closure by need dates.
• Continuously monitor and track project schedule and EAC to ensure design and fabrication are within cost and schedule constraints.
• Prepare and present EV status of all tasks that require EVMS.
• Ensure timely completion of project milestones such as design reviews to meet schedule requirements.
• Schedule design reviews, ensuring that presentations are comprehensive, complete, and meet entrance and exit criteria.
• Manage the procurement of STE. Periodically track fabrication at outside vendors to ensure on-time delivery.
• Continually assess and communicate project status and risks to TSE management, customers, and key stakeholders.
• Travel is up to 10%.
