Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks a seasoned Project Engineer to manage engineering and administrative functions on a Philadelphia Main project. You will lead engineering staff, ensure safety and compliance, and coordinate information flow across the project team.

Responsibilities include contract document reviews, GMP budgeting collaboration, and QA/QC oversight. Strong leadership, technical acumen in BIM/Lean, and excellent communication are essential for success in this on-site role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree plus minimum of eight years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and cost control procedures.
• Knowledge of estimating, construction costs, scheduling, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, various building systems.
• Strong computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
• Knowledge of Turner's Project Management and scheduling software desirable.
• Ability to implement leading-edge technologies such as Building Information Models (BIM) and Lean to benefit the project.
• Demonstrated ability to thoroughly understand drawings and specifications, general contract and subcontract documents, materials, means and methods.
• Very strong oral and written communication skills required.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the contract documents.
• Lead, supervise and develop all Turner engineering staff, including performance appraisals.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, ethics and compliance requirements.
• Overall responsibility for communication of information amongst all project team members.
• Establish and maintain procedures with design professionals, owners and subcontractors for information flow and reporting.
• Work with Preconstruction, Estimating and Purchasing to develop GMP or initial project budget.
• Conduct thorough construction document reviews for QA/QC.
• Prepare detailed contract items lists and bid packages.
• Develop procurement schedules for subcontractors and major purchases.
• Manage project financial status and prepare reports.
• Schedule and document all job meetings and coordination meetings.
• Manage subcontract change order processes and approvals.
• Manage project close-out, warranties, and final payments.
