Job summary

Trina Solar is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the development and execution of comprehensive BESS projects. You will own the technical scope, oversee design validation, and coordinate FAT/SAT while acting as a liaison among clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

You will guide commissioning activities, ensure compliance with standards, and deliver complete technical documentation for handover. Travel up to 20–30% internationally is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in renewable energy sectors (PV, Wind, Microgrid, or BESS).
• In-depth technical knowledge of BESS components, PCS, and substation systems.
• Experience with on-site BESS integration, electrical system design, protection & control, and SAT procedures.
• Understanding of communication protocols such as RS485, CANBUS, Modbus TCP/RTU.
• Familiarity with international codes, standards, and regulations (UK, EU; Australia and USA are a plus).
• Willingness to travel across Europe and internationally up to 20–30% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of project plans with objectives, budgets, schedules, and metrics.
• Own BESS technical scope, including component specification, design validation, and integration planning.
• Drive technical reviews of supplier documentation for compliance with standards.
• Coordinate FAT/SAT for major components like racks, PCS, PPC, and SCADA systems.
• Act as the primary technical liaison among internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
• Supervise design to align with contractual obligations and specs.
• Manage commissioning and integration of BESS components into the energy system.
• Prepare and deliver project documentation for client handover with version-controlled records.
• Provide mentorship and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
