Job summary

TruGrid seeks an experienced Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support utility-scale solar PV, BESS, and hybrid renewable energy projects from concept through commissioning. The role requires strong experience in medium- and high-voltage systems, hands-on CAD modeling, and coordinating with external engineers.

You will help develop design deliverables, perform system studies, and support procurement and construction activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET‑accredited university.
• PE license and/or EIT preferred.
• 7+ years of utility-scale renewable energy experience including solar PV and/or BESS.
• 5+ years of hands-on PVsyst modeling and AutoCAD drafting experience; PVcase/PVFARM a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and preliminary electrical engineering deliverables for utility-scale solar PV, BESS, and hybrid projects.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, protection and coordination studies; review utility interconnection criteria.
• Review external engineers' deliverables; ensure compliance with codes and project requirements.
• Support procurement with technical clarifications, equipment evaluations, and BOM reviews.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning; address RFIs and field issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and management teams; travel up to 20%.
