Job summary

Signal Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for utility-scale PV and BESS projects from concept through commissioning. You will develop and review SLDs, grounding plans, conduit/cable layouts, and protection schemes while ensuring compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, NESC, interconnection requirements, and AHJ regulations.

With 10+ years in PV/HV/BESS/SCADA design, you will mentor junior engineers, coordinate cross-functional teams, and support project schedules

Qualifications

10+ years in PV/HV/BESS/SCADA design.
PE license preferred or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.
Experience performing load flow, short-circuit, grounding, arc flash, harmonic and protection studies.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical lead for electrical design of utility-scale PV and BESS projects from concept through commissioning.
Develop and review SLDs, grounding plans, conduit/cable schedules, protection schemes, and equipment specs.
Perform or oversee studies: load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, grounding, voltage drop, harmonics, thermal cable ampacity.
Ensure designs comply with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, NESC, interconnection requirements and AHJ regulations.
Evaluate major equipment including inverters, transformers, switchgear, relays, protection systems, BOP components.
Collaborate with civil, structural, protection & controls, and SCADA teams for integrated designs.
