- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned engineering work
- Monitor work for compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and internal procedures and standards
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between disciplines and project participants
- Direct and/or perform field inspections and evaluation of structures
- Direct and/or perform materials testing, interpret test results, and incorporate results into reports
- Perform complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices
- Prepare comprehensive engineering documents, including inspection reports, design plans, and specifications
- Direct and supervise project engineers, technicians, drafters, and administrative staff
- Participate in internal and external project meetings and resolve project issues
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, forecasting, and quality
- Assist with client management, proposal preparation, project scoping, and cost estimating
- Promote a safe work culture
Requirements
- Good technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in area of practice
- Good proficiency in computer-assisted engineering and office software and equipment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, evaluate facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil, structural or ocean engineering from an accredited four-year university
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid US Driver’s License
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in rugged and adverse weather conditions and stand up to eight hours or more
- Maintain current industry knowledge through professional organizations and/or other activities
- Travel inside the continental U.S. may be required
- Adherence to and participation in safety, health, and environment requirements
