Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned Construction/Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate industrial construction projects. You will oversee large or multiple projects, manage engineers and superintendents, liaise with clients, and ensure goals meet schedule and budget targets.

You will apply strong financial, safety, and leadership skills to deliver on complex projects in water, wastewater, and data center environments. Strong communication and strategic thinking are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management required.
• PE credentialing is preferred but not required.
• 7+ years’ experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management required.
• Open to other large construction experience.
• Understand and interpret safety laws and company policies/standards.
• Apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
• Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
• Business-oriented.
• Ability to assure responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate construction activities for industrial projects (water/wastewater plants, factories, data centers).
• Oversee one large project or several smaller projects.
• Ensure project goals are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.
• Manage Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Foremen, including team direction, coordination, and evaluation.
• Liaise with prime clients to facilitate construction activities.
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, performance standards, work plans, and staffing.
• Direct and coordinate project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within budget.
• Review project proposals, plans, status reports, schedules, funding limitations, staffing requirements, and resources.
• Prepare project reports for management, clients, and others.
• Provide technical advice and resolve problems with project personnel.
• Coordinate activities with governmental agencies and subcontractors.
• Analyze and execute CPM-based project schedules.
• Monitor and control construction through on-site Superintendents to ensure safe, timely, and budget-compliant project delivery.
• Represent the company in Owner progress meetings.
• Manage contract financial aspects and project profit or loss.
• Lead daily field coordination, weekly block schedule, and monthly safety kickoff meetings.
• Mentor team members and assist with career development.
• Perform supervisory responsibilities including interviewing/hiring, training, assigning work, appraising performance, and addressing complaints/resolving problems.
• Perform additional assignments and other tasks as assigned.
