Job summary

The Intersect Group is seeking a Project Accountant in Phoenix to manage project accounting, track costs, update project cost estimates, and support project managers and the Finance department to ensure accurate costs and timely invoicing.

You will work with the Project Manager to keep WIP up-to-date for each job, reconcile costs and revenues, and assist in budgets and forecasts, contributing to compliant financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform job setup, control and maintenance activities.
• Support payroll project coding administration.
• Review and correct coding for all job costs.
• Perform month-end activities including cost accruals and revenue recognition.
• Generate and analyze financial reports including open/received PO reports and job cost summaries.
• Maintain accounting records for each project and equipment.
• Prepare, analyze, and report project financial information on revenue and costs.
• Participate in operations meetings to ensure policy compliance.
• Review contract terms for revenue recognition and billing requirements.
• Manage documentation and approvals for project change orders and reconcile with contract amounts.
• Review invoices with stakeholders and resolve issues.
• Assist PMs in updating budgets and cost-to-complete; develop forecasts.
• Reconcile and analyze completed jobs to ensure cost/revenue accuracy.
