Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation seeks two Senior Project Coordinators to support bicycle infrastructure design across all five boroughs. You will develop street layouts, rebalance roadways, and integrate bike facilities with pedestrian improvements to enhance safety and mobility.

Responsibilities include producing AutoCAD drawings, running Synchro models, reviewing junior staff outputs, and coordinating with Geometric Design, Borough Engineering, and Traffic Signals to ensure

Qualifications

• Master's degree in transportation engineering or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Alternative combinations with associate degree or high school diploma and required experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed street designs rebalance streets with bike lanes and pedestrian improvements.
• Create AutoCAD drawings showing lane configurations, curb alignments, and dimensions.
• Develop and review Synchro models to evaluate intersection capacity and LOS.
• Coordinate with DOT divisions to ensure design consistency and best practices.

Education

Master's degree in transportation engineering

Bachelor's degree in engineering

Bachelor's degree + 1 year experience

Associate degree or 60 credits + 4 years experience

High school diploma + 6 years experience
