Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation is seeking two Project Design Innovation Coordinators to support design and development of bicycle infrastructure across all five boroughs. You will work with engineers, planners, and stakeholders to advance innovative street improvements and multimodal projects.

Preferred candidates possess advanced AutoCAD, GIS, and design visualization skills, with a strong grasp of complete streets concepts and MUTCD guidelines.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree and two years of satisfactory full-time experience in city planning.
• Residency in New York City is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
• 55-a Program eligibility may apply for the position.
• Willingness to work in the field in all seasons, traveling by bike, walking, or using mass transit.

Responsibilities

• Develop construction-ready civil engineering or transportation design drawings.
• Conduct traffic operations, safety analyses, and before-and-after analyses.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and design drawings for project development.
• Coordinate with DOT units, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
• Support public outreach efforts and presentations to Community Boards and officials.
