Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. in New York City seeks two Senior Project Coordinators to support the design of bicycle infrastructure and street improvements across the five boroughs.

You will develop construction-ready plans, coordinate with engineers and planners, and lead junior staff to meet project milestones. Responsibilities include AutoCAD detailing, Synchro traffic modeling, and ensuring compliance with NYC DOT, AASHTO, MUTCD standards, while engaging with stakeholders and communities.

Qualifications

• Must have a baccalaureate degree and two years of full-time city planning or related experience.
• Graduate education can substitute for experience per policy, with a required degree.
• Strong knowledge of city planning norms and civil design guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop construction-ready street designs for bicycle infrastructure across NYC boroughs.
• Create AutoCAD drawings showing lane configurations, curb alignments, and markings.
• Review Synchro models to assess capacity and level of service.
• Coordinate with Geometric Design, Borough Engineering, and Traffic Signals.
• Lead or mentor junior staff and ensure design quality and deadlines.
• Present designs at community meetings and internal reviews.
