Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Lexington, KY seeks a Senior Project Controls Specialist to lead project controls across multiple large projects. You will validate WBS, develop scheduling and cost reports, manage data warehousing for controls metrics, and mentor team members while coordinating with engineering, procurement and accounting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 7+ years of project controls experience, with proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; 7 years direct project controls experience required
• Experience with critical path scheduling, project cost management, estimating and document control required
• Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred
• Ability to facilitate and produce detailed construction schedules and interface those schedules with engineering and procurement activities preferred
• Excellent presentation skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• OSHA 10-hour safety certification or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

• Lead project controls processes and consult with the project management team to ensure client satisfaction.
• Develop effective scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flow reports and forecasts for multiple projects.
• Develop and manage the reporting data warehouse to produce program controls reports and data.
• Provide leadership and training to team members on project controls processes.
• Interface with Project Management and Accounting to review costs and support audits.
• Review upstream/downstream change orders and conduct risk assessments.
• Lead IPPM meetings and present Project Controls reporting.
• Validate schedule progress and earned value reporting.
