Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support services projects across the United States. You will develop and maintain complex schedule and cost baselines, collect and analyze monthly schedule and cost data, identify variances, and assist in root cause analysis.

You will ensure that risk reserves are integrated into forecasts and communicate findings through standardized reports to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Demonstrates knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks and opportunities, including project finance, accounting or business administration.
• Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, and specs to plan and manage project execution, develop work breakdown structures, schedules, and resource plans.

Responsibilities

• Develops time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates project costs and updates requirements as needed.
• Monitors progress of project deliverables and actual expenditures versus forecasts; prepares client and internal status reports.
• Performs Earned Value Management and related variance, risk and profit/loss analyses; conducts non-routine analyses and reports.
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff and may supervise junior engineers on project work.
