Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support services projects across the U.S. This role develops schedule and cost baselines, collects monthly data, identifies variances, and assists in root-cause analysis.

Risk reserves are maintained and forecasts communicated through standardized reports to stakeholders. You will collaborate with project teams and management, implementing financial controls and forecasting techniques while adhering to safety protocols and ensuring

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required for federal contract compliance.
• Deep knowledge of project management methodologies including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts.
• Understanding of project goals, drivers, risks and opportunities, and project finance concepts.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and develop work breakdown structures, schedules, and resources plans.
• Experience with Primavera P6 and EcoSys for project performance management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and monitor projects of moderate to high complexity; update progress data.
• Develop time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validate costs; update requirements as needed.
• Prepare client and internal status reports communicating cost status and trends.
• Generate and analyze earned value reports for portfolios and discuss findings with managers.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff.
