Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support services projects across the U.S. You will develop schedule and cost baselines, collect monthly data, identify variances, and assist in root cause analysis to improve forecasts and controls.

You will monitor risk reserves, implement financial controls, and prepare standardized reports for stakeholders. The role requires teamwork across project teams and management levels, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required for this position.
• In-depth knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts.
• Demonstrates excellent knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks and opportunities as well as an understanding of project finance, accounting or business administration.
• Demonstrates the ability to independently plan and manage the detailed execution of a construction project by thoroughly interpreting and utilizing contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Expert level knowledge of Primavera P6.
• Proficient in the use of Project Performance tools (EcoSys).
• Possesses excellent teamwork and collaboration skills and an ability to work well in fast paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintains internal procedures compliance and updates project progress data for moderate to high complexity projects.
• Manages Project Managers' portfolios and projects on an international scale.
• Develops and documents project planning considerations, scope and milestones for schedules and critical path analyses.
• Generates earned value reports and discusses observations with the project manager and portfolio managers.
• Uses document management protocols to store and retrieve project records.
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff and may supervise junior engineers.
