Job summary

Ghafari Associates, LLC seeks a Senior Project Architect to lead the design development and construction document production on large, complex projects. You will coordinate multiple disciplines, manage schedules and budgets, and mentor junior staff in a hybrid environment across Michigan and beyond.

You will coordinate with project teams, maintain design standards, and ensure high-quality deliverables using Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM360.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• NCARB certification required.
• Registered Architect licensure expected.
• 25+ years of related architecture experience.
• LEED and WELL certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage large, highly complex projects and teams.
• Provide mentorship and learning opportunities for junior staff.
• Set design parameters (code, site, budget, schedule) and assist in presenting documents.
• Lead work plan and oversee daily activities of the architectural team; ensure technical quality of Construction Documents.
• Support Project Manager in schedule/budget adherence and scope changes.
• Advise Architecture Manager on staffing requirements for projects.
• Coordinate multi-discipline teams and maintain information flow across the project.
• Oversee production of schematic, design development and construction documents.
• Prepare document release notes for addenda and bulletins.
• Perform in-house contract administration tasks (RFI responses, shop drawings reviews).
• Maintain and improve office architectural standards and production tools.
