Job summary

Ledgent-Finance- is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join a growing construction company near Torrance, CA. The role focuses on construction accounting, project financial management, and accurate reporting across multiple active projects.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of construction accounting experience, strong knowledge of job costing, project billing, retention tracking, and experience with QuickBooks Desktop and Sage. Excellent Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of construction accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction draws, retention tracking, job costing, project billing/AIA billing, and payroll processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting and project financial management, with expertise in job costing, project billing, retention tracking, payroll processes, and contract administration. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple projects while ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies. Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Must reside in the South Bay area
• 3+ years of construction accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Construction draws
  • Retention tracking
  • Project billing/AIA billing
  • Job costing
  • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
  • Credit card reconciliations
• General understanding of payroll processes
• Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and Sage
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects

Preferred:

• CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification
• Experience preparing WIP schedules and working with construction project financials
• Software implementation experience (QuickBooks to Sage)
